Rainbow Moonstone Hand-Knotted Strand Necklace in Sterling Silver

There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.

These rainbow moonstones have a beautiful icy translucence, but it’s the flashes of electric blue that really make the strand. As the stones move through the light, that blue seems to appear from inside otherwise nearly colorless beads, sometimes as a small flicker and sometimes lighting up much of the stone. This optical effect is called adularescence, and it’s what gives fine moonstone its distinctive glow. The faceted rondelles add another layer of light and sparkle, making this a particularly striking strand of rainbow moonstone.

Moonstone has long been associated with intuition, inner clarity, and new beginnings. It is believed to encourage emotional balance and a greater sense of trust during periods of change.
