Confetti Chrysocolla & Tourmaline Earrings in Sterling Silver
Confetti Chrysocolla from Obi Island, Indonesia is such an unusual material. Rather than a solid mass of color, the chrysocolla and other mineral inclusions appear suspended within translucent agate, creating scattered bursts of turquoise, green and rusty red against the softer creamy areas of the stone. There is so much to look at in this pair, especially once light begins passing through them.
I paired them with rose-cut blue-green tourmalines that pull those cooler colors right out of the chrysocolla. The faceted tourmalines catch the light while the longer stones move freely beneath them, so the earrings have a beautiful amount of movement when worn. And although they have plenty of length, the Confetti Chrysocolla is fairly thinly cut, making them surprisingly light on the ear.
Chrysocolla is traditionally associated with communication, calm and self-expression, while tourmaline is often connected with grounding, protection and balance.
