Faceted Turquoise Hand-Knotted Strand Necklace in Sterling Silver
There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.
These faceted turquoise rondelles have that unmistakable saturated blue that makes turquoise so good, with bits of natural matrix breaking through the color from stone to stone. The faceting gives them an unexpected flash and sparkle, a very different look from the smooth turquoise beads you see more often. There’s something especially good about turquoise right now too. With Western influences finding their way back into fashion, this strand feels perfectly at home with denim, worn-in leather, boots, and silver without looking like a costume. It has the earthy character turquoise is known for, but the faceted cut gives it a sharper, more polished edge.
Turquoise has been treasured across cultures for thousands of years and is traditionally associated with protection, strength, and good fortune. Its distinctive blue color has made it one of the most recognizable gemstones in the world.
