There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.
These tiny faceted carnelians pack an incredible amount of color into a 3mm bead. The strand glows in shades of saturated orange, tangerine, and deeper reddish orange, with natural variations that keep the color from feeling too uniform. All those small facets catch the light beautifully, creating a lively sparkle across the necklace while the translucency of the carnelian gives the stones that warm, almost lit-from-within quality I love so much about this gemstone. It’s a finer, more delicate take on carnelian, but the color still has plenty of presence.
