Mauve Pink Baroque Pearl Hand-Knotted Strand Necklace in Sterling Silver
There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.
These baroque freshwater pearls are wonderfully wild in shape, with plump ovals, elongated forms, folds, ridges, and all sorts of differences from one pearl to the next. Their color is just as interesting, moving through mauve pink, raspberry, plum, and bronze with an almost metallic glow in places. I love how the deeper folds can look nearly burgundy while the raised areas catch the light in bright pink and coppery tones. There is so much to look at in this strand, and the larger pearls really show off everything that makes baroque pearls interesting.
Pearls have long been associated with wisdom, balance, and intuition. They are believed to bring a calming, centering energy and encourage emotional clarity.
