Peacock Freshwater Pearl Hand-Knotted Strand Necklace in Sterling Silver
There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.
These petite freshwater pearls have a gorgeous peacock coloring that shifts noticeably from bead to bead. Bronze and deep gold run through the strand alongside flashes of olive green, plum, violet, and smoky grey. Their irregular shapes keep the color from feeling too uniform, and the high luster catches the light beautifully as the necklace moves. The smaller scale gives this strand a more delicate look than some of my larger pearl necklaces, while all of that changing color keeps it interesting enough to stand on its own.
Pearls have long been associated with wisdom, balance, and intuition. They are believed to bring a calming, centering energy and encourage emotional clarity.
