Rainbow Moonstone Hand-Knotted Strand Necklace in Sterling Silver
There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.
These rainbow moonstones have an icy, translucent white appearance with flashes of blue that reveal themselves as the stones move through the light. The faceted rondelles are slightly irregular from bead to bead, giving the strand a more natural texture while all those tiny facets scatter light across the surface. Look closely and you’ll see blue appearing in unexpected places throughout the necklace, a result of the optical phenomenon known as adularescence. It’s that combination of frosty translucence, sparkle, and elusive blue that makes rainbow moonstone so captivating.
Moonstone has long been associated with intuition, inner clarity, and new beginnings. It is believed to encourage emotional balance and a greater sense of trust during periods of change.
