Freshwater Pearl Hand-Knotted Necklace in Sterling Silver
There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.
These creamy white freshwater pearls have beautiful luster and softly irregular, off-round shapes that give the strand a relaxed, organic feel. But it’s the crimson silk between them that really changes the personality of this necklace. That flash of red peeking out between each pearl is unexpected and a little daring, playing against the softness of the pearls and making the whole strand feel fresh and distinctive. At 28 inches, the pearls create a long, fluid line with enough presence to be striking worn on their own.
Pearls have long been associated with wisdom, intuition, and emotional balance. Their luminous beauty has been treasured for centuries and is believed to encourage calm, confidence, and inner wisdom.
