Deep Grape Amethyst Hand-Knotted Necklace in Sterling Silver
There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.
These amethysts are gorgeous. The color is a deep, saturated grape purple, but the stones are also beautifully clear, so light travels through them rather than getting lost in the depth of the color. The faceting makes the most of that clarity, giving the strand plenty of sparkle as it moves. Graduated from approximately 6.5mm to 8.5mm, these are substantial, gemmy amethysts with the kind of rich color that makes you understand why purple has been prized in jewelry for centuries.
Amethyst has long been associated with calm, clarity, and intuition. It is believed to quiet the mind, ease stress, and encourage a greater sense of balance and inner focus.
