Fossil Coral Bubble Band Ring in Sterling Silver

This ring pairs a beautifully patterned fossil coral with one of my open bubble bands, a lighter-scale alternative to my wide band designs. Two textured sterling silver rails curve around the finger, joined by individually formed silver spheres that seem to float within the open space between them. Oxidized recesses bring out the texture and dimensional details while the split construction keeps the band visually open beneath the substantial stone.

This fossil coral has an especially distinct pattern, with beautifully preserved radial structures spreading across the creamy stone like tiny stars or flowers. These markings are the remains of ancient coral colonies whose original material was gradually replaced by silica over millions of years, preserving the intricate skeletal structure within the stone. Soft ivory, taupe and sandy tones give this particular piece an almost monochromatic quality that lets those remarkable natural patterns take center stage.

Fossil coral is traditionally associated with grounding, stability and transformation. Because of its ancient organic origins and extraordinarily slow formation, it is also associated with patience, longevity and connection to the natural world.

Size: 8.75
Metal: Solid sterling silver and fine silver
Band: Open double-rail bubble band with individually formed silver details
