Dendritic Quartz and Mandarin Citrine Pendant in Sterling Silver and 22k Gold
Dendritic quartz is one of those stones where geology manages to make something that looks almost deliberately drawn. Dark branching dendrites spread through this quartz like tiny trees and roots, surrounded by warm golden and amber tones from natural iron staining. I especially love the way the pattern is heavier near the top and then breaks into finer branches and lines farther down the stone. None of it is plant material, despite how much it looks like it could be. These intricate patterns are mineral inclusions that formed naturally within the quartz.
I added a rose-cut mandarin citrine beneath the pendant because its deep golden-orange color picks up the warmth inside the quartz beautifully. Above it is a hinged sterling silver bail with a heavily textured surface and touches of 22k gold. The hinge lets the pendant move naturally on the chain, while the gold and citrine pull those rich golden colors through the entire piece.
Dendritic quartz is traditionally associated with growth, grounding, and connection to the natural world. Citrine is associated with optimism, creativity, abundance, and personal energy.
