Dendritic Quartz Pendant in Sterling Silver
Dendritic quartz is one of those stones where geology manages to make something that looks almost deliberately drawn. This one has a beautiful golden glow from natural iron staining, with dark dendrites branching through the translucent quartz like tiny trees, roots, and delicate ink drawings. There are larger, bolder formations mixed with incredibly fine branching lines, and because the quartz itself is so translucent, you can see into the stone rather than just looking at a pattern sitting on the surface. None of those tree-like forms are plant material. They are mineral inclusions that formed naturally within the quartz.
I set the stone horizontally in a textured double bezel with two sculptural sterling silver prongs wrapping over the lower edge. Handmade loops on either side connect it directly to the chain, with small silver granules tucked around them as finishing details. The back is finished with a deeply textured sterling silver plate.
Dendritic quartz is traditionally associated with growth, grounding, and connection to the natural world. Its branching formations have also made it a natural symbol of growth, change, and putting down roots.
