Pink Ethiopian Opal Hand-Knotted Strand Necklace in Sterling Silver

There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape that molds effortlessly against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure—flexible, grounding, and endlessly satisfying. I adore layering these strands; they bring a lush, polished finish to any outfit, whether paired with other necklaces or worn alone as a statement of quiet luxury. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones, a detail that makes the piece as refined as it feels.

These Ethiopian opals have been dyed to achieve a striking, electric pink, an unexpected twist on a classic gemstone. The effect is bold and playful yet still luminous, with flashes of opal’s natural fire glinting through the vivid color. The strand feels like a spark of joy strung bead by bead, unapologetically bright and eye-catching, perfect for adding an infusion of energy and fun to any look.

Opal is often associated with creativity, inspiration, and emotional expression. In this vibrant shade, the stone’s symbolic qualities are amplified, calling to mind passion, vitality, and the courage to stand out.

Care: Opals, in general, are a soft stone and can be damaged if not taken care of properly. You want to avoid getting these wet, getting any lotions, perfumes or makeup on them. That means no showering or swimming while wearing and put them on after you've gotten ready. If they get wet with water they can lose their flashiness until they dry out which can take days to weeks. Welo opals are actually somewhat porous, so they can also absorb lotions, makeup and perfumes. Damage can be permanent if that happens so get ready first and then put on your opals last. You should not sleep while wearing them and if you need to clean them buff with a soft cloth. When you aren't wearing them return them to the pouch they came in and store safely. Don't leave them sitting in direct sunlight either. So long as you be sure to do these things, which are really very simple, they will stay beautiful for many years to come.
