Moss Aquamarine Hand-Knotted Strand Necklace in Sterling Silver

There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.

Moss aquamarine has so much more going on than traditional pale blue aquamarine, and this strand shows exactly why I love it. The color moves through watery blue, sea green, smoky gray, and muted mossy tones, with occasional warmer flashes appearing from stone to stone. Some beads are beautifully transparent while others hold natural inclusions that seem suspended inside the aquamarine, giving the entire strand wonderful depth. The faceted rondelles catch flashes of light between all that shifting color, making this one of those gemstones you find yourself looking at more closely because every bead is a little different.

Aquamarine has long been associated with calm, clarity, and courage. Moss aquamarine is also often connected with grounding and emotional balance, combining aquamarine's traditional connection to water with the earthy character of its natural inclusions.
