Graduated Aquamarine Hand-Knotted Necklace in Sterling Silver

There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.

This is a particularly beautiful strand of aquamarine, with faceted rondelles graduating from approximately 4mm to a substantial 9mm at the center. The stones are remarkably clean and translucent, with very few visible inclusions and that pale, watery blue aquamarine is known for. Finding aquamarine this clean in larger beads is not especially common, and the graduation really shows off the quality of the stones. The facets catch plenty of light, giving the entire strand a crisp sparkle without taking away from the softness of the color.

Aquamarine has long been associated with calm, clarity, and truth. It is believed to ease stress, encourage clear communication, and bring a greater sense of emotional balance.
