Labradorite Open Frame Earrings in Sterling Silver

These earrings are built around a beautiful pair of long, narrow labradorites suspended inside elongated open silver frames. The stones have an incredible electric blue flash that moves across the surface as they catch the light, shifting over deeper smoky grey and blue undertones. Their long tapered shape works especially well with the open design, with the silver following the lines of the stones while leaving space around them.

Small clusters of silver granules gather near the bottom of each frame, adding another layer of detail without competing with the labradorite. I finished these front and back, with a patterned texture covering the reverse of each setting. It's a detail mostly for the person wearing them, but I love knowing there's something interesting to discover on the other side too.

Labradorite is traditionally associated with intuition, transformation and protection. Its shifting flashes of color have long contributed to its reputation as a stone connected with change and discovery.
