Labradorite Open Frame Earrings in Sterling Silver
These earrings are built around a beautiful pair of long, narrow labradorites set inside elongated open silver frames. The stones have a moody mix of smoky grey and mossy green that shifts dramatically in the light, flashing vivid blue with touches of teal and warm gold. Small clusters of silver granules gather near the bottom of each frame, adding texture while leaving plenty of open space around the stones.
I especially like the way the elongated shape of the labradorite works with the open frames. The silver follows the lines of the stones without enclosing them completely, giving the earrings a lighter, more open design while keeping the labradorite as the focus. I finished the silver front and back, adding a patterned texture to the reverse. It's a detail mostly for the person wearing them, but those are often the details that make a piece feel more special.
Labradorite is traditionally associated with intuition, transformation and protection. Its shifting color and hidden flashes have long contributed to its reputation as a stone connected with change and discovery.
