This Mexican fire opal has a gorgeous, fiery orange body color that glows like a hot ember, with flashes of brilliant yellow-green and lime dancing across the surface. There's a beautiful mix of honey, tangerine, and deeper burnt orange throughout the stone, giving it an almost liquid, glowing appearance. The elongated pear shape draws the eye into all that color, while the smooth, polished surface lets the opal's natural fire do the work. The reverse features a richly textured silver backing, adding an interesting detail to the other side.

Mexican fire opals are especially prized for their warm body colors, ranging from golden yellow to vivid orange and deep red. Unlike many opals known primarily for their rainbow flashes against a pale or dark background, fire opals can be strikingly colorful even before their play of color comes into view.
