Montana Agate & Hessonite Garnet Post Earrings in Sterling Silver

These earrings begin with an exceptional matched pair of Montana agates, beautifully translucent stones crossed with dramatic bands of smoky black and deep brown. Fine amber tones trace portions of the darker banding, while tiny scattered inclusions add even more character. The clarity of the agate gives the pattern remarkable depth, with the dark bands appearing almost suspended within the stone.

I paired them with glowing hessonite garnet cabochons in a rich reddish amber. Their warmth picks up the subtle amber and brown tones within the Montana agates, drawing those colors forward while letting the striking natural pattern remain the focus.

The Montana agates are set with open backs so light can pass through the stones and reveal their translucency and depth. The hessonite garnets form the post tops, allowing the long agates to hang beautifully beneath the ear, with an articulated connection that gives them movement as they're worn.
