Montana Agate & Sterling Silver Tassel Earrings

These earrings have so much personality and movement. The Montana agates are beautifully matched, with translucent warm amber and honey tones crossed by fine bands of rust and brown and scattered with dark natural inclusions. There is an almost landscape-like quality to the patterning, especially where the color shifts from smoky cream into those richer bands of amber.

Below the stones, multiple lengths of fine sterling silver chain form loose, fluid tassels that swing freely as the earrings move. Small silver teardrops punctuate several of the chains, adding flashes of polished silver and just enough weight to make the tassels sway beautifully. I love the contrast between the strong geometric shape of the agates and all that movement underneath.

A trio of silver spheres sits between each stone and tassel, adding another sculptural detail without competing with the agates. Despite their length, the open chain construction keeps the earrings airy rather than visually heavy.

Montana agate is prized for the remarkable natural inclusions and scenic patterning that make every stone different. It is traditionally associated with grounding, stability and balance.
