There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.
This is such a pretty expression of aquamarine, with a natural mix of watery blues, pale seafoam, nearly colorless stones, and touches of soft green and yellow, along with a hint of pink morganite scattered through the strand. The faceted rondelles are beautifully translucent, letting the light pass through the stones and bring out all those subtle shifts in color. Rather than the more familiar uniform blue, this strand has a wonderfully varied palette that makes it especially interesting while still feeling soft and easy to wear.
Aquamarine has long been associated with calm, clarity, and communication. Traditionally connected with the sea, it is believed to encourage a clear mind, emotional balance, and an easier sense of flow through periods of change.
