Orbicular Jasper & Mandarin Citrine Dangle Earrings in Sterling Silver

These earrings are pure sunshine. The orbicular jasper is covered in an incredible pattern of golden yellow orbs against deep green, black and pale gray, with tiny areas of natural druzy adding a subtle sparkle. The pattern is bold and almost graphic, but completely created by the stone. Each earring is different while still reading beautifully as a pair.

I paired the jasper with faceted mandarin citrine drops because the color was simply too perfect not to. Their rich golden yellow picks up the warm tones running through the jasper, while the faceting adds a flash of light and movement beneath the longer stones. A few of my silver granulation details finish the transition between the two, keeping the design interesting without competing with that incredible pattern.

This particular orbicular jasper has become very difficult for me to source, and I can no longer get the material I used for this pair. I've made a number of pieces from it over the years, and it's still one of those stones that immediately catches my eye. Bright, graphic and wonderfully unusual, these have a joyful presence that makes them especially fun to wear.

Orbicular jasper is traditionally associated with grounding, patience and a sense of calm. Citrine is associated with optimism, creativity and abundance, a fitting combination for a pair that already feels so full of warmth and energy.
