Orbicular Jasper Pendant Necklace in Sterling Silver

This pendant features a really beautiful piece of orbicular jasper, filled with well-defined golden yellow orbs floating through a soft white and gray matrix, with a few subtle druzy pockets tucked into the pattern. I especially love the color in this material. The mustardy golden yellow against the pale background makes those orbs stand out so well, and there is an incredible amount of pattern packed into this long, narrow stone.

I set it in my double bezel setting and added a large hinged bail at the top, which gives the pendant some movement and works especially well with its long shape. I chose a 24-inch chain for this one because I really liked the way it looked worn a little longer, but I'm happy to adjust the length if you prefer something different.

I don't have many pieces of this particular orbicular jasper left with this gorgeous, vibrant pattern. Like so many of the unusual stones I collect, when my stash is gone I may not be able to find the same material again. If you've had your eye on one of these, I'm getting pretty close to the end of what I have.

Jasper is traditionally considered a nurturing and grounding stone, associated with stability, comfort and a steadying energy. Orbicular jasper is also believed to encourage emotional balance and help ease stress.
