Baroque Pearl & Draped Chain Earrings in Sterling Silver
These earrings have exactly the kind of slightly decadent, bohemian elegance I love. Long baroque pearls stretch across the top, each with its own natural ridges, irregularities and beautiful satiny luster. Beneath them, fine sterling silver chains fall in layered swags, creating a fluid little chandelier of silver and pearl.
A smaller pearl hangs freely at the center, moving independently within the draped chains and catching the light as the earrings move. I love the contrast between the organic, imperfect surfaces of the pearls and all of those delicate lines of silver. They're romantic without being overly sweet, a little dramatic without being enormous, and just unusual enough to make them interesting.
There is something almost old-world about the combination, like antique chandeliers, candlelight, velvet and a very good glass of wine, translated into a pair of earrings. The chains keep everything fluid and give the design that bit of movement that makes them especially beautiful hanging from the ear.
Pearls are traditionally associated with wisdom, calm and emotional balance.
