Purple Chalcedony & Amethyst Sterling Silver Earrings

These earrings started with an especially beautiful pair of purple chalcedony cabochons. The color is a rich, luminous lavender with that soft inner glow that makes good chalcedony so beautiful. Purple chalcedony of this quality isn't something I come across often, and these stones have an exceptional combination of color, translucency and that almost ethereal glow that made me fall in love with them.

Below the chalcedony, faceted amethyst drops cascade from fine sterling silver chain. I love the contrast between the smooth, glowing chalcedony and all those sparkling little facets. They're swingy, lightweight and incredibly fun to wear, with flashes of purple catching the light every time they move.

Purple chalcedony is traditionally associated with emotional balance, calm and communication, while amethyst has long been associated with clarity, protection and intuition.
