Sonoran Sunrise Earrings in Sterling Silver

The color in these Sonoran Sunrise stones is fantastic. Saturated turquoise and green chrysocolla runs through deep black tenorite with flashes of rusty red cuprite, creating this bold interplay of color that almost looks painted. I especially love the long marquise shape for this material because you get to see those colors and patterns travel all the way through the stones.

Sonoran Sunrise comes from the Milpillas Mine in Sonora, Mexico, and its incredible color is completely natural. The turquoise and green come from chrysocolla, the rich red from cuprite and the dark areas from tenorite. It's such an unusual combination of minerals, and when you get a pair with this much color and such beautiful patterning, it really doesn't need much else. I kept the sterling silver setting fairly clean and let the stones be the focus. The backs are patterned as well, giving them a beautiful finish from either side.

Metaphysically, Sonoran Sunrise is associated with grounding, emotional balance and renewed energy.
