Hand-Knotted Labradorite Necklace in Sterling Silver
There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.
This strand features faceted labradorite gemstones with a soft silvery-gray body color and beautiful flashes of blue light. Labradorite is one of those stones that rewards a closer look. At first glance it appears understated and neutral, but as the necklace moves, brilliant electric blue emerges from within the stones. This optical phenomenon, known as labradorescence, is what gives labradorite its captivating flashes of color. The faceting adds extra sparkle, while the black silk thread enhances the depth of the stones and makes the blue stand out beautifully.
Labradorite has long been associated with intuition, transformation, and protection. It is believed to encourage self-discovery, strengthen inner wisdom, and support periods of growth and change.
