There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.
These ametrine beads are beautifully clear and full of sparkle, with soft lavender and pale golden tones mingling throughout the strand. Some stones lean more violet, others more champagne, and a few show both colors within the same bead. The faceting really brings the subtle color to life, catching the light without taking away from the delicate, almost watercolor quality of the stones. It’s a softer take on ametrine, but still has all of the unusual color that makes this gemstone so beautiful.
Ametrine is a natural combination of amethyst and citrine within the same crystal. Metaphysically, it is associated with balance, clarity, and creativity, combining the calming qualities attributed to amethyst with the bright, optimistic energy traditionally associated with citrine.
