Rainbow Moonstone Petite Pendant Necklace in Sterling Silver

This rainbow moonstone has a gorgeous wash of blue that seems to float beneath its softly translucent surface. Wispy white inclusions and silvery-gray tones give the stone a slightly cloudy, layered appearance, while flashes of vivid blue and hints of aqua emerge as it catches the light. The rose-cut facets add another dimension, reflecting light across the surface while the color glows from within. It's a particularly pretty example of the dreamy, shifting color that makes rainbow moonstone so fascinating. The reverse features a textured silver pattern, a little extra detail on the back.

Despite its name, rainbow moonstone is actually a variety of labradorite, a member of the feldspar family. Its characteristic blue and rainbow flashes are caused by light interacting with microscopic structures within the stone, an optical phenomenon known as labradorescence. In traditional crystal lore, rainbow moonstone is associated with intuition, new beginnings, emotional balance, and feminine energy.
