Brown Peacock Pearl Hand-Knotted Strand Necklace in Sterling Silver

There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.

These pearls have a gorgeous, dark chocolate-brown color with a subtle peacock iridescence that reveals itself as they move in the light. Rather than the more dramatic greens and blues often associated with peacock pearls, these lean decidedly brown, with understated flashes of plum, bronze, and hints of green beneath their glossy surfaces. That shifting color gives them a beautiful depth without taking away from the richness of the brown. The slightly off-round shapes lend a natural character to the strand, and at nearly 8mm, the pearls have a lovely, substantial look. They're moody, sophisticated, and a little unexpected, particularly if your idea of pearls has always been something white and traditional.
