There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.
This strand has such a beautiful watery mix of color. Pale pink morganite moves into icy aquamarine, clearer blues and soft sea-glass greens, with the colors loosely grouped along the strand. Nothing changes abruptly though. The shades are subtle enough that one seems to melt into the next, creating this lovely wash of color from pink through blue and green. The tiny facets catch the light and give the whole thing a soft sparkle.
Aquamarine has centuries of lore tied to the sea and was once carried by sailors as a talisman for protection and safe passage. It’s traditionally associated with courage, calm and clear communication. Morganite brings its own softer magic, connected with love, compassion and an open heart.
