Multi-Color Tourmaline Hand-Knotted Strand Necklace in Sterling Silver

There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.

This strand brings together the incredible range of color found naturally in tourmaline. Pink, rose, peach, olive, leafy green, deep forest green and warm golden tones are scattered throughout, with the occasional nearly black stone adding depth and contrast. The faceted rondelles have beautiful clarity and catch the light as the necklace moves, making all of those colors even more vivid. There’s something especially good about tourmaline in a mixed strand like this. No two stones are quite alike, but together the colors just work.

Tourmaline has long been associated with protection, balance, and grounding. Different colors carry their own traditional meanings, while multicolor tourmaline is often connected with harmony and bringing those different energies together.
