Pink Sapphire Hand-Knotted Strand Necklace in Sterling Silver

There’s an undeniably sensuous allure to a hand-knotted strand of gemstones. Each bead moves with a liquid grace, the silk thread giving the necklace a supple drape against the skin. In the hand, they’re a joy to roll between your fingers, smooth and rhythmic with just the right weight. It’s a tactile pleasure, flexible and deeply satisfying. I adore layering these strands, playing with different stones, colors, and lengths, but they’re just as beautiful worn alone. Each one is knotted on silk thread chosen to complement the stones.

This is an exceptionally beautiful strand of pink sapphires, with a rich, saturated raspberry-pink color that practically glows. The stones have a wonderful depth of color, with flashes of light dancing across their faceted surfaces. There's a lushness to this particular shade of pink, vibrant and intense without being overly bright or sugary. These are gorgeous, high-quality sapphires, and I've only got one strand available.

Sapphire belongs to the corundum family, the same mineral family as ruby. Although most people associate sapphire with blue, it occurs in a remarkable range of colors, including pink, yellow, green, purple, and orange. Pink sapphires get their color primarily from traces of chromium, the same element responsible for the red in rubies. Long associated with wisdom, loyalty, and protection, pink sapphire is also traditionally connected with love, compassion, and emotional strength.
