This Ethiopian black opal reminds me of looking into a distant galaxy. Against its deep blue background, tiny specks of electric blue and green shimmer like stars scattered across the night sky. The color gradually shifts into a luminous aqua near the bottom, creating an almost otherworldly sense of depth. There's something especially beautiful about the way the colors seem suspended inside the stone, with flashes that appear and disappear as the light changes. It's a fascinating opal, and one that feels like a miniature piece of outer space.
