This Ethiopian black opal has an incredible intensity of color, with brilliant flashes of electric green and deep crimson red against its dark body color. What I especially love about this one is the way the colors seem to form layers within the stone, with vivid green running through the red and hints of golden orange appearing as the light changes. The smooth, domed cabochon gives the colors a wonderful depth, making this a particularly vibrant example of Ethiopian black opal.
