This Ethiopian black opal has a softer, smoky gray body color that gives its fiery flashes of red, orange, and green a beautiful contrast. There's a lovely depth to the stone, with colors that seem suspended beneath the surface before suddenly lighting up as it moves. The combination of that translucent gray undertone and vivid play of color makes this one especially interesting, with a different character depending on the lighting.
